Join us for a cosy afternoon drawing workshop where we will discover and re-discover the upcoming exhibition at Das Leben am Haverkamp: MY ALL • A LOW BUDGET SPECTACLE by Luca Tichelman. Using observational drawing and memory to unlock a state of ‘picturing’, we will take a closer look at Luca’s work, as well ourselves within the installation. Through guided drawing exercises we will consider ideas of the archive within the archive, the self within the self, and the drawing within the drawing, activating key themes of the exhibition such as mimicry, portraiture, the fragile line between memory and reality, and the constructed nature of the self.
All ages and abilities are welcome, but we will be giving some precise instructions, so a desire to delve into your imagination and use drawing as a tool to access it is crucial.
Drawing materials are provided. 15 spaces available.
This workshop is supported by Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie, Gemeente Den Haag and Stroom Den Haag.

Nice Flaps is an artist initiative formed with the unanimous aim to gather and observe together, to provide time to concentrate, to look, to be, without an outcome in mind other than contemplation itself.
We offer non-taught, experimental drawing events generally with a model, perhaps two; mostly naked, sometimes in costume; alone in the room, or mingling among props and sets. We collaborate with artists, institutions, and other artist-run spaces, and challenge the parameters of life drawing by asking: What does it mean to draw from life? How can it affect our daily perception of the world? Our programme therefore expands beyond traditional life drawing that technically trains artists, instead creating comfortable welcoming spaces where first-timers and regulars alike can take part in an art event and share a collective moment with others.
Nice Flaps has been running since 2019 and is organised and curated by artists Annemarie Wadlow (UK) and Alejandra López Martínez (ES).
